Car wash operator drove my 1991 through the car wash with emergency brake all the way up. Obviously he did not know how to disengage the brake. But know when I drive it, as the engine heats up that awful burning smell still lingers. What would cause this? Thanks.
You could check for the calipers properly disengaging by jacking the rear and seeing if the wheels spin freely. Don't be alarmed if while you spin one wheel forward the other spins backward.
The smell could be residual goo from the wash that will need to flash off.
If you find an empty parking lot with a gentle slope can you point the car down slope and let it coast in neutral then stop the car with the parking brake and release the brake and see if the car rolls again?
