Default Miss - fix

I am posting a report of a fixed miss on my 94 LT1. I bought the car in June of 2011 and it had been sitting for a year. After changing the water pump, fuel filter, Opti, Plugs, plug wires and replacing seats, rubber seals, windshield, and tires I went to get it inspected. It ran fine but failed so they told me to run some Chevron Injector Cleaner and come back. Went back the next day and passed. After about 200 miles I started having a miss at about 1800 rpms after the engine warmed up.

I orininally figured that the cleaner broke some trash loose from the fuel system and changed the fuel filter again. After reading a lot of posts, I started changing things because I figured it was not the Opti being I just changed it. I replaced all sensors escept the MAF but I cleaned it. I also replaced the coil. After everything else failed, I broke down and replaced the Opti and it has been running GREAT ever since. As shown on many posts, after each item change I thought I had it fixed only to find out that once it warmed up the miss was back. Result = another Opti Failure. Hope this helps!!

Very nice of you to post the final fix. It seems that many threads remain open-ended and therefore don't contribute to the collected wisdom of the forum as much as they could with a final resolution.

By the way did you take the failed opti apart? I am particularly curious about the two screws that hold the rotor.

What brand of opti was it that failed? What brand did you replace it with? Thanks.

I bet it was some cheap one from Advance or something.

OP, that is a LOT of money to throw at a problem. I suggest in the future, you invest in a good FSM for 75 or so. It WILL pay for itself.
Diagnostics are WAY cheaper than throwing parts at an issue.
