85 and 87 climate control

85 and 87 climate control

Could someone verify if the climate control panel/module if you will, is the same for 85 or 87.

(Controls under the stereo for ac/heat /fan)

They are not the same. 85 is pure mechanical, slide switches, and vacuum distribution valves. 87 is more electronic/digital.

Electronic and Manual are different beasts with Electronic being an option - but so are Electronics for convertible and coupe and with and without heated mirrors. As far as I know, Electronic Panels are out of production but vendors do offer rebuild services which is what I'd choose. The likelihood of a used unit failing - if it hasn't all ready - would be fairly high.
