Default Pressure Cycling Switch

I need to replace the Pressure Cycling Switch on my 88. Am I understanding this correctly from my fsm:
When diagnosis indicates replacement of the switch is necessary, it should be noted that it will not normally be necessary to discharge the A/C system, as the pressure switch fitting on the accumulator is equipped with a shrader type valve.
Does this mean I can replace the Pressure Cycling Switch without removing the refrigerant? Anyone with experience on this?

Thanks.

I have replaced my switch. There is a Schrader valve in the fitting that the switch screws into. Just unscrew the old switch and screw in the new one. No refrigerant will be lost.
