So the last three days I finally had the time to replace my intake and everything above it. I changed the injectors, egr valve, egr solenoid, 52mm BBK, IAC, FPR, adjustable cap, all vacuum lines and more. I bought the plenum, large tube runners, and the big mouth intake from a member.I knew the plenum and runners were ported. I did not know the intake was until I had it off. My heads are stock.
The car starts and runs for about 10 seconds and then dies. I had a friend stop by at lunch with his computer to read what the car is doing. The computer says everything is fine. I set the new FPR to 43lbs according to John at FIC. I don't want to start ripping parts off yet.
I would recheck the ignition timing + wire routing (keep 5+7 apart as in factory looms). No insult intended but double check plug wires going to correct plug.
Did you compare the stock gasket to ported base, to see if it seal around the port ?
I had to go out and buy Fel-Pro performance gaskets to fit the ported intake. The gaskets fit fine on the intake. On the head they seated fine except they are a little bigger around the port because the head isn't ported. I triple checked that before reassembling anything.

The IAC is new from GM but; I know that doesn't mean it isn't faulty. I will get a new IAC and double check the timing and plug wires 5 & 7. I am thinking IAC also.
Was that FP with the vac line off & plugged?
Did you clean the IAC bore under the TB before inserting the new unit?
Did you mark the dist rotor position on the base before removing it from the engine?
Verify that the 9th injector base is sealing properly.

thanks again guys....
Don't go buying a new IAC just yet. You have a new TB that has never had the minimum idle set. You may want to adjust the minimum idle screw to open the blades and see if that gets you going. Also, you put the TPS onto it, did you set the voltage to .54 ?
I didn't set the IAC pintel. How do you do that? The voltage on the TPS is set to .54.
Jr is talking about the setting the length from pintle to base. If it's too long, you will jam the pintle into seat and possibly damage it. They are usually set to a safe length when purchased, but always a good idea to check. My fuzzy memory says it's about 1.25".
