Default Alt Wiring Help

I'm nearing the completion of my 89 race car and have run into a snag with the wiring. I realized (after I cut the wire of course) that I need to run something to the brown wire in order to get the alternator to charge.

1) Will wiring a light bulb to this line work to make the alternator charge?

2) Does anything need to be wired to the blue wire (the one that goes to the AC), or can I cut that one?

Thanks!

Thanks for the link. That is a little more in depth than I was hoping for.

Any other ideas?

if you're not using a/c ,cut it you dont need it, blue wire tells the fan to turn on when you turn the a/c on, the brown wire to a bulb works fine, you can also use a resistor but with the bulb you get a visual when its working or not. Just converted to a powermaster cs130 on my c3. if you have an idiot light run it to that. hope this helps. btw wireing to the bulb also prevents your alternator from backfeeding your engine and keeping it running. I have a simple diagram, ill find it.
heres better
1.S=battery supply
2.F=not used
3.L=to resistor or bulb
4.P=not used
these are off the back of your alternator. I could make it alot more complicated, but that will work
one wire alternators arent the cure all that they're advertised to be.
