LT1: Buggered Up my Steam Pipe
In the process of replacing headgaskets, I bent the tube a bit removing it and the 'rubber washer' that seals it doesn't appear to be in the best of shape. It seems a little bit too brittle/fatigued from 18 years of heat cycles to reinstall and trust.
I know some of you have made your own. I imagine you can ditch the banjo bolt and use a 90* fitting and some tubing/compression fittings to tie the 2 heads together with a T in the middle to go to the hose that it connects (which I believe goes right to the radiator).
I was thinking of adding a second T fitting with a bleeder screw in it. Not sure if there is any benefit there though.
Maybe there is a better way?
I'd love to see what you guys have done.
PS; I have heard of some guys cutting part of the tube out that cracked and replacing it with good quality rubber hose and hose clamps.
