Default upper control arm thick spacer location

The factory service manual says "SPECIAL THICK WASHER IS LOCATED
AT REAR INBOARD POSITION" I assumed they are talking about the conical spacer.

I cant remember which side mine came from but I thought i had read some threads say it goes towards the front of the car and that the way it looks like it should be

Im confused

It would only make sense that it would go in the front to help with caster in my opinion. Here is an old picture of my car. Disregard the Gatorade bottle...

most of what I have read says put it in front, and I agree that the caster would get weird if its put in the rear

Those spacers in that picture were not changed from the factory configuration, all I did was adjust the shims behind the spacers.

I can look for mine this weekend. If I find them they are yours if you cover shipping.

Your front end alignment guy would be the one to answer that question. As these cars get older, there may be some distortion or flexing of the front crossmember, which might require these spacers be relocated from their original locations.
