Had one of those moments, thinking of another thread and did not relate to the door locks.
Me bad.

So it turns out I am not familiar with that kit. Hopefully someone else is and can help.

I think the OP was talking about not have the solenoid locking system.

I thought that was standard on C4s.

I assumed my 84 came standard with the power door locks, so I assumed the kits he referred to were the keyless entry..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty certain that ALL 86's came with power door locks, so I remain unclear about what the OP is asking about...the power door lock switches?, the solenoids? or some kind of aftermarket kit (which I've never heard of) that allows for keyless entry, sometimes called remote door locks. So, OP - would you mind clarifying what you are asking about?

The power door locks on my '86 (option AU3) cost me $175.00 in late 1985, so they were not standard for that year.

Unless one of the catalogs offers a C4 specific kit I think you are looking at two purchases. 1 the door bezels and PDL switches and 2 an alarm/keyless entry system (such as valet) that includes the door plunger actuators.

There was no remote until about 1990, just the power door locks. A
remote receiver can be installed (I've done it on my '87). Search here
and the C4 General forum for "Valet" and "Bulldog" which are the two
brands people seem to have used.

Funny thing, I was just reading multiple Threads and I see you allover them! Seems like you know what you're doing
But I was looking into the Bulldog Keyless system but I see plenty of other nice Remote Packages on Amazon and i was wondering, are they all compatible?

My 87 has the optional power door locks (RPO AU3) that were $190.00.

Most of them can probably be made to work if you understand the
basics of electricity. The advantage of the
Valet, and I think the Bulldog, is that you can find instructions that
tell you what color wire to connect to what color wire.

Do take note that the early C4s (earlier than yours) had a different
door lock circuit.

The12Volt.com is a great resource. It'll give you proper wire colors and locations for an alarm system or remote start.

There's also tons of information on wiring up relays for various things such as a starter kill/anti-grind, retained accessory power (if you car doesn't have it already), remote power trunk hatch release (if so equipped), Passkey bypass, Light-Flash when Unlocking/Locking, or even Headlamps On when Wipers On.
