Ok, so I am changing out the lock cylinder as I have lost my keys and for the life of me I can't find them.
I did manage to break the VATS wires so I am waiting for my new lock cylinder to arrive.
Meanwhile, I noticed this blue wire spliced (poorly) onto this rather large yellow wire. There was also a white wire run to ground on the knee bolster bolt.
They were not connected, but my guess says they were and just came apart.
Any ideas what this would do? I searched the FSM, but it is not that helpful when you don't know what you are looking at.
Whatever you do, don't connect the blue wire with the white wire. The blue wire is hot coming from the fuse box. The white wire as you said is ground. + and - don't mix.
