Brake Pad Preference???
I'm just curious what you prefer for a brake pad for your vehicle?
I have always been partial to Bendix brake equipment, and would even use Raybestos on occasion, but on a recent excursion through Omaha I found only 1 place that sells Bendix Brake Pad's (and even then they are 3-4 days away) and 2 that sell Raybestos.
Most carry the Wagner brand (Never heard of them).
What do you know about the Wagner brand, and what is your brake pad of choice?
I just did the brakes on our 94, front and backs. Went with the new Rayobests called QS. Seems to work great. About $100 for the front pads and $60 for the backs and $10 to turn each rotor. So far sso good. :seeya :seeya
But they do tend to squeak and dust. Also they have a lifetime warranty. However, they do stop and I had to push them very hard up in the mountains to fade. :yesnod:
I just replaced the front pads last week. The car is still up on jacks till I get the gearbox back together so I have not driven it with the new pads yet.
I called Auto Zone looking for a set of Performance friction pads to fit my 88 . They could not find them. No listing in the system. They had other pads that fit starting at around $20. No thanks. I find that typical for Auto Zone.
I got a set of Ceramix from Napa. Supposed to be the same as Durastop from GM. $150 for the front pads. $210 for the Durastops. The Ceramix are supposed to be low dust, no fade, and extend rotor life.
My question is do the rears and fronts have to be the same. I changed the fronts. I have no clue as to what the rears could be.
