You are in luck my friend. Melrose offers headers for all C4 production models.

I'd go arh but I just think merge collectors (and every last drop of power) is sexy.

1 5/8" OD is good for mild builds, 1 3/4" are good for most, 1 7/8" for bigger builds

Backpressure does not make torque.

Did I miss anything?

I'm a little confused so please forgive my ignorance.

I am having problems figuring out if Melrose is actually bad or if this is good hearted ribbing. I've read through some threads and sort of got lost on the subject. (maybe I need more coffee)

I too am looking for headers for my 85. I don't need cats as in Georgia, I am now emissions exempt. Is the Melrose set honestly good or is my money better spent elsewhere?

Muchly appreciated and didn't mean to threadjack.

There is a little gentle prodding going on but one thing we are all saying is true, Melrose is a class act all the way and his headers are too pretty to put on a car.

Fair enough. I know my mechanic will want to custom make the headers but I think I'd rather go with a known set. I know that getting headers and removing the cats should wake the car up a good bit. We are thinking of using a mild aluminum head to go along with it all. (I'm not looking to make a fire breathing monster, just a little more......lively.) =)

Thanks for the clarification! I'm still reading and trying to digest as much as I can. There's a lot to catch up on.

Melrose is a good company with good product. So is Stainless Works.
I put a complete Stainless Works system on my 92... Jet Hot coated long-tubes to square tips.

One thing you need to decide is if you want true duals, or stick with the factory setup.
I'd go true duals if it were me.

Do a couple searches for similar threads, I think it would be safe to say this one has a slight *cough* bias towards Melrose. Nothing wrong with them but you'll see more choice in other threads that people have been happy with.

Everything from hooker, hedman and obx (cheaper) to tpis, melrose, arh etc.

Good luck!

Couldn't agree more!
True Duals just have the right sound!

Stainless Works makes a full length headers with 1 5/8" primaries for the L98 Corvette.
