Default Rad Replacement

Want to insure I have all the knowledge to complete job, have FSM but sometime you get tips from those that have done the job. Replacing my Rad this week or at least by the weekend...in the '84.
I have an automatic, my new rad has the two ports for trans, and a couple of extra ports with plastic plugs in place, do I need to take the plastic plugs out or replace with something? Any tips appreciated.

Regards; G

It could be they are for a engine oil cooler. If so, and you dont have one. just leave the plastic plugs in place

Thanks for the reply...just wanted to make sure the plastic plugs will stay in place once installed and running...

It does not matter if the pastic plugs stay in place or not. The fitting are to a closed tubing loop...no coolant will come out. Well...not unless the tubing breaks and if it did, those plastic caps will not hold for long.

In doing the rad replacement....I bet you either learn some new words or re-visit some old ones.

So I don't need to worry about the plastic caps...nice!

I'm not looking forward to learning new or recalling old words....sounds like a fun job....
