92 Coolant Sensors

92 Coolant Sensors

Are there one or two coolant sensors on a 92 LT1? I am only finding one in the book, but I was told there are two. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the 93 there are 2 units. I'll have to get my book to see how they are listed but when I found them at the parts store one was listed as a temp 'switch' (located on the front of the water pump) and the other was listed as a temp 'sensor' (located on the pass side head between 6 and 8 cyl). I assume the 92 is the same but not sure.

The temp sensor is for your temp gage and the switch tells your fans when to engage. Do you have a problem with the temp gage or is the car overheating?

The one in the water pump ; the CTS ( coolant temp sensor ) is the engine temp indicator for the computer
and everything it operates (computer turns your fans on )
