Cant help you on either question as I have the 4+3, but as a tip, make sure to take out the fill plug FIRST! Its a nasty shock to drain your tranny then to find out the fill plug wont come out.

Assuming it is the factory 6 speed from a '95, it would be the ZF-6 then.
For fluid, it comes down a "personal choice".
But there are a few highly recommended fluids.
To remove the drain and fill plug, you need a 17mm allen head socket.
I use Amsoil in mine.

Before you open the drain plug, you MUST get the fill plug out. These are notorious for rounding off (zfdoc sells new ones) and then you are stuck without any oil in your trans until you can get it off. If it does round off, hope and pray that you can get vice grips/channel locks up on the lip of it and turn it... good luck...

For those that opt for the AMSOIL Synthetic Synchromesh Transmission Fluid (MTF) (Product Code MTFQT) mentioned by RollaMo-LT4 above, I’m happy to offer dealer wholesale prices, about 25% below retail, for forum members via the AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program. Drop me a PM if interested.
