quick question...
i currently own a 1987 corvette with the stock BOSE system, and was kinda curious about somethings you could possible help me with. i wanted to know if i could hook up a aftermarket amp to my system to power a 200watt sub box. i was reading somewhere that if this is done then i will not have power to my rear speakers, is there anyway around this? i want all 4 speakers to play along with the box. i was told that the infinity bass link was a good way to accopish this, but was wonderin what ur comments would be, along with any suggestion that u may have.. thanks a lot and this is a great forum by the way..

Each speaker in your car has 4 wires going to it.
+ Radio Signal
- Radio Signal
+ Amp Power
- Amp Power
The radio signals are very faint as the amps boost them, but... they should be enough for you to tap into back there before they get to the amp to give your aftermarket amp something to work with.
What I did was unplug the stock speakers, remove them, and then tap into the +/- radio signal wires for the new ones. I replaced the head unit also. I unplugged the stock harness and only tapped into the existing signal wires so that the car did not have to be rewired.
I just asked him and he said to follow Scorp's post above since he did the same thing. He has two 10 inch subs by the way and it seems to loosen all the interior panel screws. So it works.
