Default cut cable--help

My 1993 was vandelized & the battery cable was cut. Ins paid but when i picked it up it would hardly run. I seem to remember 2 wires on the battery post. Now there is only one. Could this be the problem?

yep.

There are different places on dif year models but the ECM , and all the accessory systems all get their power from small wires that come off of a smaller post that gets supplied by the pos post on the battery. They likely bundled it or deleted some connections. Get it back to the stock confiruration. Go find another car and take a CLOSE look at the way the wires ALL come off the battery and more important....where they ALL go. There are also fusable links under the battery that need to be checked. Those are the power source for the major electrical systems...not the fuse panel.

If you can get your hands on a G.M. field service manual it has the schematic in it and should tell you what was connected there. The shop that did the repair should have fixed this.

I'd inform the insurance company that it wasn't fixed properly and take it to a shop that specializes in Corvettes.

Have the insurance company cover any work done...you pay enough for the premiums, they should take care of you.

Look around for the cut wire, it should still be there somewhere. I'd try and find it and reattach it myself. The less strange hands on my car the better, but thats me. They'll be doing dougnuts in the parking-lot If I ever do have to have someone work on my car (as rare as hen's teeth) I breathe down thier neck, if they don't like it TOO BAD
