1992 Stock Audio problem

1992 Stock Audio problem
When sitting in car, I feel like I can only hear the back right speaker.
I recently did a check of all the speakers and the back left is very low and some times pops in and out.
The front two are very low. But when I'm driving all I can hear is from the back right.
My initial thought was that it maybe the speakers and was going to replace them all this morning. Before I did that I did some research and from what I have gathered, the speakers are usually the last to go.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Will it be a pain in the *** to fix my self or do I need to bring it to an car audio center??

The Bose system is known for having problems. You cannot just go out and replace the speakers as each speaker has its own amplifier. The system consists of 3 separate units. The control head is in the dash. That is the visible part. Hidden under the dash (as I recall), is the electronics unit. This is the actual receiver that sends the signals out to the speaker amplifiers. After the signal is amplified, it is sent to the speaker, and converted into sound waves.
Most likely the problem is in the amplifiers. You can send them to Dr. Dons for repair, with or without the other components. He can install an upgraded CD player in the stock head if you have the original.
My suggestion is to go to the audio shop and have a new radio with new speakers installed. It will be better in every way.
Do a search on the Bose radio and look in the audio section of the forum.
Of course I am assuming you have tried adjusting the balance and fade controls on the radio.
