Default Prothane total kit not total?

I got the red poly bushings in the total kit for my C4.

Started inthe rear suspension and found that the long bolt connecting the spring to the rear knuckle had four bushings. But in the replacement kit their are only 2.

Am I supposed to have two poly and two rubber bushings?

What's up?

Now I am confused, my vette had 4 bushings and the picture of vetteoz only has 2.

How about the rest of you. Two or four?

Your initial statement said
" the long bolt connecting the spring to the rear knuckle had four bushings".

So to clarify; four bushes on the one bolt or 4 on the car total????

Pic above is of one side ; multiply it by TWO to get total bushes required

Well I may be slow, but I can count to 4. My 84 has 8 bushings, 4 on each side. The prothane kit has 4 total. It is listed as an 84 kit.

Anyway 2 of the bushings were decent, so I put the poly bushings on top and bottom and the two decent bushings in the middle. Either way it was a giant pain in the butt. All went well except the large bushings that go on the Dana suspension. It required a long pipe, a torch, a dremal, and an ice pick.

Obviously the 2 bushes in the center are for looks as they will never serve any purpose by coming into contact with anything

@The Plastic Lizard,

I believe the bushings in question here are the rear spring cushion bushings (Kit #7-1020) included in our 84-96 CORVETTE TOTAL KIT# 7-2013.

Kit# 7-1020 CORVETTE REAR SPRING BUSHING KIT includes four (4) bushings and four (4) washers total, so it appears you received the correct number of bushings.

This kit was designed for a broad application range (84-96 Corvette), which is reason the kit only includes 4 bushings. The bushing count discrepancy may be an isolated issue with the 84 model, but we have been selling this kit for many years without any fitment problems.

If you look around at other manufacturers spring cushion kits for the 84-96 corvette, four (4) bushings is the standard.

If you have any more questions feel free to email me keith@prothane.com

Thanks for the info. The 84 had 4 bushings per side. So it must be different than the PETA. But only 2 take abuse and the others are just place holders.

So I'm good
