I am looking at putting a B&M Hammer shift or Quicksilver in my 87, and wanted to see if anyone else did it. I saw the race/drag versions, but I want to keep it more factory clean looking.
I am doing a lot to the car (bought it bone stock) and while the tranny is out for the stall and the header/exhaust install is going on at the same time, I figure it would be a good time to investigate. The C3 guys did a lot of them, but the tunnel seems so much tighter in the c4s.
Am I asking to much to NOT have it look like a box sitting on top of the console, or am I dreaming?
Ideas or suggestions?
Thanks- that is what I was looking for. His is more of a race oriented shifter versus the quicksilver, and he did a real nice job. Looks like it may be a go for this one.

If shifter mech is mounted to the top of the trans tunnel under the console as stock shifter is
the Quicksilver chrome cover ( only ) will sit nicely on the top of original console.( looking stockish )
Problem ( cosmetic ) is the QS **** sits considerably higher ;
in P ,top of **** is level with bottom of the DIC. (84 - 89 )
there is more adapting under the console than you would think, but it is doable and if done right works great. I also followed mseven's thread. I installed a stealth , as others have, and you dont really need the 'box' you will remember where the detentes are. you can put a good boot on it and keep it close to inside the console. The biggest issue for me was bridging the dip in the tunnel and making sure the cable didnt have a bind or ran to close to the exhaust.
