Default Tie Rod Question

While I have the rear end dis-assembled, I am going through each of the parts to check and clean. I noticed that the ball joint on one side is noticably looser than the other. I am not refering to the outter ball joint that attaches to the knuckle, but rather the ball joint which is part of the bracket that mounts to the differential. I have been looking on the web, but so far have only found a complete tie rod set, both with and without the outter ball joints. So, my questions are:

Can these be serviced or replaced individually??
What is acceptable in terms of how loose the ball joints can be??

These joints do not appear to be greaseable, so the standard method of determining when they should be replaced does not apply.

Anyone else have to go through this before?

I don't think these can be serviced individually. The entire assembly is available for $100. The killer are the tie rod ends, they're $80 each.

I'd replace it. Your never going to maintain a proper alignment unless you do, and for the sake of safety its worth it.
