Default Suspension mods?

I am going to start to take out my D44 (3.07's) and 4+3 and replace them with a ZF6 and a D44 (3.45's).

I do want to stiffen up the car, and I figure this is the time to do it. The suspension is the way it left the showroom floor 25 years ago so I bet it needs attention.

I am thinking of the Energy Suspenion bushing kit, and having the Bilstein's re-built.

The car is a street driven car, with "hopefully" 2-3 visits to a roadcourse a year.

Am I on the right track?

What do you recommend without breaking the bank?

I do have the DRM brackets in the garage that will be installed.

Will that polyurethane bushing kit, and rebuilt bilstein's really stiffen the car up?

The car feels good, but I dont know any better. I have had the car for 10 years, but in saying that 25 year old suspension parts can never be good.

The car has 80,000 miles on it......

Thanks!

Would you like to drive an LT4 with Z51 suspension to compare? Have you looked at the VanSteel QA1 double adjustable coil overs? I thought you were going to enjoy the engine build for awhile? All the best.

Picked up the same thing a while ago and installed it. Should be a definite improvement over the old fatigued rubber bushings which are probably on track for dry rot, given the age. The redone bushings may make the car sit a little different before it settles in. Another poster noted an increase in ride height of 5/8 and inch after a full rebuild with poly bushings.

Mine has the Z-51 from the general so not much different. I did enjoy it for 700 miles.
