I have a 93 LT1 that has a persistent code 43. I have been datalogging for a tune and I noticed over time as I replaced parts the knocks have been getting fewer and fewer. A 20 min drive at first was producing 6000 counts over the logs it has come down to 400 counts. So looking for the reason for this I found a vacuum leak and fixed it also cleaned the intake with to much sea foam. The next log I was expecting improvements in the knocks, instead it was worse around 14,000 counts. Any ideas what could be causing this.
had a code 32 egr but deleted that. We think the car has a cam due to the high MAP pressures. I have some one helping me tune. Trying to figure if we have another problem before we start adjusting the fuel/air. Via the VE tables. It kinda sounds like it has a miss but to my ear it could the cam.
I am haveing the same issuse with my car out doing some datalogging and there it was! Code 43 and knock retard, 12* to be exact.
The wires going to each knock sensor are supposed to have 5 volts going through them. Mine has zip. Wait awhile and go back out and the wires have voltage again. Do alittle more tuning and it,s back again. I have no idea unless it's a bad pcm? Anyone have a clue?
Sorry for jacking the thread Senter9 but rather start a new one, you are haveing the same problem.
