I need help in diagnosing a problem with the power antenna on an '87 Convertible: The antenna will not raise.
What should I check for first, second, third, etc.
The antenna itself is really in a difficult place to access. The radio does power on and I thought the antenna derives its power from the radio. Any expert advice to narrow down the source of the problem will be appreciated. Thanks, CAB
Not sure if you hear something at speakers, so I would suggest testing the radio and clock/courtesy fuses.
Power for antenna motor comes from clock courtesy fuse, power for coil in antenna relay, comes from radio fuse.
I hear sound from the speakers (actually a weak radio station) and the clock is working fine. To me that would put the fuses out of the loop (also, I checked all the fuses when I first found the problem). On a convertible where is this relay located?
Not sure where it is on a vert. On my coupe, it's under rear cargo area trim, beside hatch latch, drivers side.
Use the advanced search, that question must have been answered before.
