Default Technical information on the steering column?

I have myself an odd predicament. I need to use this C4 corvette column that I have, and mate it to a rag joint. An old vw beetle steering box to be specific. It's not going into a vw beetle though.

So I've been talking with some people on a different forum about how I can go about doing this. The premise is, I need a U-joint or double U joint to fit onto the output shaft of the C4 column, and the other end of this joint to have the T shaped spindle piece that bolts to the rag joint. Essentially just like this:

I can't buy a U-joint with the ability to fit that spindle into it properly since no one sells a 60 spline x 16mm female spindle u-joint. But that's my own issue, the reason I have come here is because I am struggling to find a "data sheet" if you will of the c4 column. I basically want to know what size DD u-joint I need to fit over the end of this column. 3/4"? 1" I looked at measuring myself but I'm not sure which way to measure or if maybe I am supposed to fit a DD shaft inside the shaft of the column! All so confusing.

I was hoping some of you guys are familiar with the steering column and could help me out with this. The other thing I'm hoping to find is a wiring list for it. It appears to be in a standard color coordination for GM but there are more wires I'd like to know the purpose of. Hopefully there's a tech sheet somewhere.
