Default PCM Communication Issue - HELP!

This weekend I was attempting to update my PCM with the updated tire height using my Hypertech programmer which I've used before with no problems.

This time while updating, the battery in the car became low and the Hypertech froze at 77% completion and a couple minutes later it lost communication after the car battery basically drained.

I recharged the battery and reconnected the Hypertech at which point it said program interrupted and attempt to reconnect to the PCM. It failed to communicate 3 times.

I connected my Autoxray 7000, and it to was unable to communicate.

I noticed that the SYS light is flashing and the Service Engine light is flashing to many times to count per second.

I've checked the fuses for the CCM and PCM and all looks good.

Did I fry the PCM, what did I do, what happened?

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks.

It is very possible you cooked that ECM or at the very least it has NO program to run off of. 94-96 was all programmable, older is chipped.

If this was a Nissan you would be getting a new ECM, they are unrecoverable at that this point. You always connect a battery charger when programming a ECM. Consider this an expensive lesson in ECM reprogramming.

Not sure if yours is recoverable or not, I doubt it is. Start shopping of a new one/repair yours (if possible).

Hopefully, you did not damage any other modules. Good Luck.

Doubt you damaged it , rather you deleted the orginal program
As noted ;
with any electronic device if you loose power part way through the re-programming you have neither the old program
or the new one

May have to send PCM out to be re-flashed back to stock

or get some basic mods done at same time

Next time I will make sure I have a charger connected when programming

Also I will be sending out the ECM to hopefully be reflashed.

I also decided to make the expensive lesson even more expensive by ordering a new ECM just in case the old one is damaged beyond compare.

Worst case scenario I end up with an extra ECM that I can send out later for upgrade reprogramming and not have any downtime.

Was able to locate a brand new ECM with factory programming included for $285.

Now,... Does anyone know anyplace besides Hypertech that can reset the programmer?

Those SOB's want $250 to reset and $339 for a new one.
RIDICULOUS!!

Thanks Again guys you
