For my 383, I left the driver's side header off to give a little more wiggle room. It was nearly as easy to install the driver's side header with the engine installed as it is with the engine on the stand.
I've since installed an LTx engine with both headers installed and it goes just fine. You just have to be careful not to bump them when moving the engine around and getting it seated on the mounts since you have a little less side-to-side room.
What mods did you do to the motor and what kind of power did it put down?

What style and make timing chain were you using ?
And; as a seperate aside, what is your opinion of GM's "Extreme Duty" LT4 chain ?
