Default Vortec head with Renegade

I have an 84. Can someone recommend a vortec or fast burn head that will match with a Renegade intake manifold. I understand that there is an 8 bolt pattern with vortecs that do not match the 12 bolt pattern of the original and Renegade manifolds. I will also be adding Hooker headers but I don't think there is a problem with them mating to the vortecs. A recommendation for a cam would be appreciated also.
Thanks

I went with vortec heads on my L98 my heads and intake did not work. The vortec heads require vortec intakes or the ports don't line up. I also had to go with LT4 headers because of the "D" shape exhaust ports. I would make sure the headers you are running will be sufficient mine were covering part of the port. As far as cam goes you have to tell us more of what you want from the car. I was running a CC502 and it had great street manners. GL

Do you all ready have the Renegade intake? Can you post port dimensions from the renegade?

I dont belive you can adapt Renegade to vortec heads.

Renegade MFG may come out with Vortec intake soon.

Why not go to MPFI with StealthR or a Edel Victor SP? Then run ZZ4 or Vortec heads. MPFI has much better control of fueling.

The Renegade is already installed so I do not have a way to measure the ports unless I remove it. I think I will just install the headers and be satisfied with that. Thanks to all who replied.

There are plenty of aftermarket heads that will bolt right up to your Renegade CFI intake that are far better than Vortec's.

If you want cast iron buy a set of Dart Iron Eagle 180's or the RHS 180's.... RHS also has a "Pro Torker" PN 12410K1 which is a Vortec replacement casting that has the old style intake bolt pattern.

If you want alum look at the Brodix IK 180, Dart Pro 1 Platinum 180, Edelbrock E-STreet, Performer or Performer RPM.

By the time you bought a set of GM Vortec's and had them fixed you'd be about the same $$$ into them as the most expensive of these heads.
