Default 92 auto heater controls no power

hi
I have a 92 roadster built 6-92 that has the auto heater controls. I walked up to the car and the heater motor was running with out any key in or power. I turned key on and pushed the off button on control and fan shut off. since this I now have no power or display to heater control unit and hot air is coming out of floor vent if I drive car. I have service manuals but they do not tell how to check out if no display on control unit. all fuses that I can find are in good order. local mechanic changed out control unit as he though it was dead. but no response same as old one.
the book shows a heat and air programer supplies a signal to control unit, we are going to replace that next.

the supplier says the unit fits late 92 and 93 models, how do I know what makes a late 92 model? mine was built 6-92?

does anyone have any ideas or same issues and what did you find to be problem?

THANKS TO ANY AND ALL REPLIES

Check the blower motor module connector for bad connections on the pins or burnt open wires. If that all looks good the module could be defective. It is located in the top of the evaporator box under the hood.

There is always 12 volts power to the module even with key off. The programmer only gets power when the key is on. So if the key is not on the programmer has no power and is probably not a factor in the problem. If the wire from the programmer to the blower module opens, it might cause the module to turn on and run the fan.

Also check fuses #43 and 18.

What kind of books do you have, do you have the FSM books?
