PCV System setup
I'm finishing off my rebuild and have a question regarding the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system. The old system had a vacuum-operated check valve, but my engine builder tells me it is best to always have a slightly negative pressure in the crankcase.
He suggested fitting a breather on each valve-cover, then joining the two breathers via a T piece, with another hose going to the air intake. In this way, when I go on boost it will suck harder and scavange more effectively.
Does anyone see a problem with this setup? I ask because I cannot see why the original system had a vacuum-operated check valve.
TIA
Steve
