Nice mod! Another way to do it would be to drill a hole from inside the housing to the inside of the threaded hole for the bottom center cover bolt. That way, when you want to change fluid, just remove the bottom center cover bolt and the fluid will run out that bolt hole.
My response was really more of a question to the folks that have done this before. It has been said that it is not practical on the vette, I've done it on a camaro in the past; that's why I brought it up.
I changed two in one day a 96 and a 95 .I went the cheap way cheap pump what a mess ,hose poped off oil all over the place.. I had lot's bangs and grinds comeing from the rear of my 96 lot's miles was thinking new rear ,changed over the Redline no sound from the rear now.it's got 10,000 miles after change ,still great... Dran plug the way to go ,, Half day to change the oil. Three days to clean up my mess..
Your right, I did get the fluid changed with the $10.00 pump, but you need to add the cost of $10.00 for floor dry afterwords! what a mess, gear oil smells and does not clean-up easy!
