Rebuild Adjustable seat tracks
the passenger seat does nothing but buzz when you try to adjust the seat position.
Does anyone know of a good guide to rebuild these?
The gears don’t break, but the end and middle gear shaft supports do break. Then the gears don’t mesh. I tried to fix many years ago with plastic welding. Learned a lot but did not hold up, there is too much torque and stress on the end bearings. Nylon- plastic parts real strong when new and not fractured. But if cracked, forget it. You can't buy the parts either.
I ended up replacing the seat assembly frame unit. The seats back and set come off and you just get the frame assembly. Eckler's or mid-America has the units. There might be more vendors also I'm sure.
The only thing I am not sure about is how different sport seats are from the basic seat.
