So in a 94 vette, you can just walk up to the car with the transmitter in your pocket and the doors will unlock?
Yes, that is true, you do not press any button to open or lock the drivers door. You can change the programming so it will open or lock the passengers door as well simultaneously. Or you can use the button to open the passenger door once the drivers door is unlocked.

The range is about 3 feet. This is so you have to be close to the car to unlock it. It is the design and will not work from 10 feet away.

i went to the local corvette club meeting today and tried another FOB, it worked flawlessly on my C4.

so now i know it's the FOB and just ordered a new one for 130 USD + 20 USD shipping to germany. i hope the taxes and customs won't add too much to the total price, but this was the cheapest and best way to get it working again soon i guess.

the woman who is repairing the fobs can just work with the newer GM models (black/grey buttons), not with the old ones (black/orange buttons).
