Bolt pattern for trannies....
I am looking for pics of the bolt patterns on the TH700r4, and the 4L60E. If anybody can help with this, it would be greatly appreciated. :cheers: :seeya

My only 700r4 is in my Olds, so I can't help...
But I am curious: *what* bolt pattern??? The back of the engine block???
I can't think of any other bolt pattern on this trans... :confused:

Yes, you must be refering to the transmission bellhousing bolt pattern where it mates to the block. All Chevy engines, of interest, have the same classic "Chevy" bolt pattern. Buick, Olds, Pontiac, and Cadillac, share a different bolt pattern. When I refer to an engine by GM division, I mean the division that designed it, not necessarly the car it is installed in. A 350 Chevy engine in Buick has a Chevy bolt patten, which is different than the 350 buick engine. The Chevy bolt pattern has not changed since the first SBC came out in 1955.

I should have mentioned that I need the bolt pattern on the bell housing. I thoght that the bolt pattern was different on the TH700r4 and the 4L60E. I am going to be doing an LS-1 swap and was told that the bolt pattern was different, and I would either have to use the 4L60E. I was wondering how different it was.

Loking in the shop manual, it does not specifiy a pattern, only torque settings. And that is for both trannys.
If you need the torque for each one just let me know and i will post them.
