Default A/C Compressor Diode
Anybody got any idea of the voltage/amp values for this diode, or where you can get one? My '87 has had it cut off. It should be connected directly across the connector on the compressor. Thanks for any assistance.

Radio Shack part # 276-1103. I can't for the life of me remember how I put it in. I blew the module the first time. There is a diagram somewhere on this site.

It's probably an arc suppressor.

I think it should go with the marked end towards the +12V side. Put it backwards and it will blow when the A/C is turned on.

According to the FSM it provides a safe place to catch the voltage.
