I was driving my 93 corvette stock . and noticed when I would change gears. from drive to reverse or neutral to drive or any of these combos. the back right axle area would jolt perty gnarley. and it ran that way for a while. and I just dealt with it
but then the other day i went in reverse from park. and i heard something snap. and clang on the concrete i got out and checked it and noticed a broken cap that said "spicer" was laying there. I believe its a ujoint?
and now my car drives like the back passenger tire is oval hopping all over the place. besides taking it to shop any help here would be much appreciated thanks
Why don't you keep driving it until it won't move at all? Then it will be easy to figure out what is broken. Bring a dust pan and a broom along just in case.
You obviously don't do your own maintenance or you would have looked into the problem long ago! It also doesn't sound like you've the facilities to probably accomplish a repair.
I'd maybe talk to a couple local shops before the "roll-back" ride. It will be difficult and expensive to move it the second time if you're unhappy with what's told you by the first.

You do realize the half shaft keeps the wheel in place....
The damage the half shaft can do to the spindle and control arms not to mention the diff. Remember you will need a wheel alignment, and really check everything thoroughly. You may be lucky but i suspect your half shaft wont be straight anymore remember they are an aluminum tube!!!
You may end up with a vibration after replacing the universal joints, please take care of your vette or sell it and buy a Toyota
amminich ure a a** corvette specialty in riverside said there was no such thing as a
"half shaft joint "
...... But apparently there is such a thing as a half shaft U-joint ..... Amminich couldn't have said it much better (except to include the U-) ... especially regarding the common sense comment ...........

I was wondering "wat" the OP meant when he said "...and I just dealt with it".
