Default 84 Cooling Fan Amps

Long ago owner of my 84 "rewired" cooling fan direct to ignition switch "Hot-at start/run". I am fixing with correct fan relay and connector. I suspect the original battery to fan relay connector was a fuselinked power wire. I want to just put an in-line fuse here but not sure of what amperage to make it. Searched forum and found one thread stated fan needs upto 30 amps at start and another thread that indicated fan draws 14 amps.

What is the correct fuse load for this single fan power circuit?

I have an 84 and I use a 40 amp. circuit breaker on my non stock circuit but you could use a 30 amp fuse for the stock cooling fan. I cannot believe that the stock fan draws 30 amps even on start up. I have used 30 amp fuses on bigger fans than my 84 with no problems. The "trigger " wire for my relay uses a 3 amp in line fuse just like the factory circuit.

The factory wiring used a 20 awg fusible link to protect the fan motor circuit.

Also note the AC pressure switch turns the fan on
when the AC is on.
