Hello!I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience in adding a Fan switch so I can turn on the fans manually, instead of 228 degrees as it does now, what relay and what colored wires do I tap into,or if there is another solution my ears are open. I also noticed after I flushed the coolant system out this weekend, that i get girgling in the resivour, i changed the Radiator cap to a Stant 16lb with a lever pressure relief(according to the Stant book it says 16 lb for 92 corvette) but a 15 lb was on there from the Factory, will the extra lb cause any problems,I also used distilled water and Water wetter,Thanx for any input I appreciate it. Happy Motoring
On my '92, the two relays that were tapped into are on the left side of the fan shroud.
Front relay: dark blue with white stripe.
Rear relay: dark green with white stripe.
From there to the switch. Other side of switch to ground.
When you refilled your radiator, did you bleed the air from the cooling system? There are two bleed screws; one is located on the thermostat housing (right side) and one on the throttle body bypass (left side). The gurgling may be from air trapped in the system finally making it to the reservoir. Just watch your coolant level, it will take a couple days to purge the air... at least it did on mine. Good luck.
By the way... do not get the optispark wet! Period!
Thanx Oly!So tap hot wire to them striped wires and the other to ground ,sounds easy enough,As far as the radiator bleeding, I did that through the Thermostat housing, since the Throttle body is bypassed, I filled up the resevoir until a steady stream of water came out of bleeder, then ran car until operating temp,so I think I did it correctly,But some air could of still been trapped.where did ya run the fan switch through the firewall,If ya dont mind me asking, thanx again for the input ,much appreciated  :chevy :seeya
Uh... no, don't tap any hot wires to those striped wires. The taps, wires, and switch allow you to complete a ground circuit... that's all you need, or at least that's what it looks like to me.
It was already installed and wired when I bought the car. The switch is located on the mounting bracket for the left front turn signal. It is a pain in the rear to use (have to stop car, raise hood) but I plan on moving it sometime soon. (yeah, sure I do....)
