Default Advice needed on disabling ASR

After I recently added the Bailey LTCC ignition to my 94 LT-1, I noticed the tach wouldn't work and the "Service ASR" light was on. After reading several previous posts on the Forum, I ran a new white wire from the PCM to the tach filter and solved the tach problem, but the "Service ASR is still on and remains on all the time. Last Saturday I tried some acceleration runs to test the Bailey ignition unit and I felt like the car was being held back and not accelerating smoothly. It felt as though the brakes were being applied as I pushed the throttle. I did not feel the throttle pushing back as though the ASR was kicking in. I did not accelerate hard enough to spin the wheels. As a note, I replaced the TPS with a new one when I cleaned and rebuilt the throttle body. However, I didn't use a Tech 1 to do the learning thing with the PCM. Could this be part of the problem? To disable the ASR, I know I could push the dash switch, however I do this all the time, but would prefer to remove the ASR accelerator cables and motor under the hood and disconnect the connector at the EBTCM. Is this a smart thing to do, or is there a smarter way to disable the ASR?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Had the same issues you described. Removed the ASR. No problems since. Cruise control no longer works when you do this.
