Default quick question

My friend and I are putting together a s-10 project (383) and he ordered a new set of gm connecting rods. Without the originals to compare . Is there a certain direction they shoud go in? I thought it was notch (in bearing)away from the cam, but I usually never use GM factory rods. thanks...

I was hoping some of you guys remember how the stock rods were installed. We have stopped working for the evening and will check back in the morning . Worse come to worse I could call the dealer(wow, that just sounds bad). good night all...
