I'm gonna be lazy here, I checked the seach but there were 10 pages on the subject and I didn't feel like going thru every thread. Does anyone remember a while back somebody posted pics of a homemade vacuum testing device, it was basically a flat plate that bolted in place of the throttle body. I meant to file that but didn't and now I would like to have it to look at again. I can't remember now but I believe it had an air coupler attached to it for applying air to the engine. I sure would appreciate it if someone can post a link to that thread.
I dont remember that, but you would have to take all rockers loose inorder to close all valves and then, what about the leakage from the rings? Assuming all of that is worked out what amount of leakage is acceptiale and at what pressure or vacuum?
That could be mine. Bolt this onto the plenum in place of the throttle body, back off on the valves and mytivac the system. It will show if the system holds vacuum. If it doesn't, air or smoke can be used to pressurize the intake and the leak easily found.

THANKS, that's it and I thought it was your idea. I'm going to make one of those for myself, it sure seems it would make vacuum diagnosis a lot easier.
