Hi,
Going to pull my heads off and get the seals replaced along with the valve guides and need to upgrade my head gasket to a high performance type that withstand my 12.5 compression. The replacement stock type i used from the autoparts took some extra $ to get them to seal I have a 96 LT1 over bored 4.060, making it a 401. This is the gasket I am looking at buying, any good?
........ Ryan ... this gasket will work ... the gasket bore size is kinda close to your overbore size , you might try to find one that has 4.125 or so to give you some extra cush ... mostly due to the chamfer at the top of the cylinder bore in the block ...... the MLS gaskets are all the rage right now ..........
...........Between these two , I would buy the Fel-Pro ... mainly because of the larger bore size .......... have you looked at Cometics? ............. they are pricy but worth the extra $$ ....
