Yup, you heard it right, I have a squeak...in a C4... who would have thought
Unfortunately, it's not inside the car, I think it is coming from the rear wheel(s). It's not there all of the time, just when I'm on a flat, straight, low speed road. I'm guessing wheel bearings... survey says?
What is involved in replacing or repacking them? Any words of wisdom?

Check your brakes and rotors. Mine started off as a small squeak on the straightaways and only at certain speeds. About 2 weeks later was squeaking all over. I thought mine was coming from the front driver's side, but it turned out the rear driver's side was the one squeaking.
Good luck...it's not that expensive of a job (relatively speaking, of course).
I wouldn't be too surprised at that since the brakes were just replaced (about 1500 miles ago). In any case, the wheels are coming off this weekend to find out what it is.

You may also want to check that the caliper bolt that goes thru the rubber boot has new grease on it. This is what allows the caliper to float, otherwise it squeaks horribly.

good luck, david
Would it squeak even if the brakes weren't engaged? It seems that if I get on the brakes moderately hard, the squeaking stops (so does the car LOL!).
