Replace O-rings behind water pump?

Replace O-rings behind water pump?
This afternoon I picked up a replacement water pump from Dal (lucky me - his shop is only 5 miles from my house :D ). I thought that it would include the shaft o-rings, but it only came with the two gaskets.
Are the o-rings a 'must-do'? I'm planning to put the pump in tonight or tomorrow morning and won't have a GM parts dealership open. :(
How about the gaskets - should they be coated with gasket sealer (type?) or can they go in dry?

New o-rings are only needed if the old ones are toast. I didn't need to replace mine.
On the advice of some folks, I used a very light coat of RTV on both sides of the gasket. Permatex Ultra Black, but it probably does not really matter what type of RTV you use. Good luck.

Make sure to seal the threads on the WP bolts also. Not sure exactly which ones extend into the water jacket, so I just sealed all six.

Make sure to seal the threads on the WP bolts also. Not sure exactly which ones extend into the water jacket, so I just sealed all six.
