The water pump on the 84 has only five bolts holding it in there but on the passenger side the two studs that hold the water pump also hold on the inner part of the ac bracket which has to come completeley off to get to the water pump studs. on the drivers side the alternator has to come off and the power steering pump has to be removed and set to the side to get the drivers side bolts out on the top there is one more bolt on the top that is attached to the air tube crossover pipe so I had to take off the air "smog" pump and the belt tensioner take care not to damage the power steering hoses. And on my car you have to change the pipe on the side of the new water pump over from the old one
