lately, on my 1995 vette when I operate the air conditioner, the air only comes out the footwell vents. Nothing I do with the push buttons on the control head will make the air come out the dashboard vents I know it has something to do with the vent door position. Has anyone else had this problem? Might it be an electrical problem? Any ideas where to start troubleshooting would be appreciated.
My 96 has a similar problem. The air will however come out of the center vents after about 10-15. Then all is fine.
I believe the problem has to do with the air programing unit located up under the dash (look straight up from the gas pedal after you remove the panel there). The way I understand it, there are vacumn lines located on the programer that feeds the different vents. The one to the center vents collaspes and cause the air from passing. The unit is a PIA to get to.
FYI...mine is the manual climate control, not electronic.
