Idle is REAL high....
My vette is idling at 1200rpm's in Park, and about 1000rpm's in OD and stopped. I usually have a high idle, but not this high. What should I check?

Make sure the butterflies are closing to the stop. If the butterflies aren't binding, then try cleaning the IAC valve.

I had the same problem after I re-installed my cleaned injectors. I reset my IAC (as the instructions in the tech section shows) and the TPS and that seemed to solve everything. Hope your solution is this easy.

Definately check the IAC, if reseting it doesnt work then take it out and clean it.

If it happened all the sudden, check to make sure that you don't have a vac leak (like the PCV or the brake booster line).

I checked all the lines earlier, and didn't see anything.

I removed the IAC and it was way beyond cleaning, so I just replaced it. But, the idle is still high. After resetting the IAC, and I turned my car off I heard air escaping from the circled tube coming out of the brake booster.

Re: Idle is REAL high.... (OrangeC4)
First, unplug that line and just put your finger over it. See if that lowers the idle.
That check valve can be replaced without replacing the entire booster. Don't know if that is the problem, but maybe.

That lowered it from 1200, down to 950. I guess that is part of the problem. Thanks for that tip.
