Default z51 rear leaf spring

Do the shims need to be replaced or changed when installing a Z51 Hypercoil rear leaf spring in a 1993 C4? We have the old spring out and the bushing mounts on the new spring are 1/4" higher. Any sugesstions before I attempt the install. The two top shims are 6.2 mm and the bottom shim is 5.2 mm. It looks like a 5.2 on top instead of a 6.2 would solve the problem. I have two on the way. Any advise would help.

Thanks
Jim

THE LARGER THE space on top the higher the car sits and conversely, it sits lower, just get it in there snug but not crushed and you'll never know the difference. old stuff is fine, unless they are damaged, if you think they are dirty, that's another story.

You can rack and stack the shims above or below however you want. GM did the same thing depending on the specific spring in order to set the ride height.

yep...shim the GAP accordingly. On top or underside. That can raise or lower the ride height by the thickness of the shims. Install the spring, measure the gap. Add shims to fill the gap but do not crush the spring in there.. This will cause the spring mounting brackets to break if bound up.No gap under brackets.
