Hey everyone new guy here and this is my first post (not new to forums just new here). Been use to messing with my Duramax for the last few years and decided to try something new so I just pulled my 84 corvette out of the garage and decided to do some upgrades (like get it running again first haha).
Future plans are to pull the l83 out, rebuild it and ditch the crossfire injection for a carb, new cam, heads, etc. and try and make somewhere around 400 hp. I have been doing a lot of reading about swaps and such over the past week and have found a lot of good information. Only thing I'm lacking on is electrical info on what all will need to be changed or altered to ditch the crossfire.
There are a ton of cool cars on here that I have seen swaps in and they look amazing. Looking forward to be in that group one day soon.
Oh and if anyone has any personal preference on parts they like that have worked good for them, some to lean toward or away from, or just general info they wanna share that would be great. I still have some searching to do but thanks for the help.

That one does look nice but I think I'm going to build the one I have. Its a low mile car with only 86k on it and has been in our family its entire life. There is a shop around here that told me they offer a 2yr 24k mile warranty when I told them I wanted to build mine to around 400hp. Still need to get some reference from them though.

I rebuilt and hopped up the 350 I had in an 81. It had a computer controlled carb and distributor. I bought a performance carb and distributor along with intake, heads and cam. I did not hook up any of the computer controls and it ran like a beast. I'll bet you could do the same with your 84. I think the only thing you might have to deal with is the lock up for the 700R4. Plenty of options out there for that though.
Yeah thats what I'm quickly learning. There are so many options its overwhelming. I am wanting to do something like what you did and I know it will wake it up (not hard when it only came with 205 hp haha). I found a set of headman headers forsale for $140 brand new and I'm thinking that might be my first mod since its not real expensive and seems like a good deal

Bought my current 91 from a F117 pilot in Goldsboro, NC a few years ago. He bought it new to celebrate surviving Desert Storm.
It was a great ride back to Michigan!
