Can a any TPI system from be used with a "speed density" harness & ECM?

I want to put fuel-injection into my 63 Nova.

Pretty much - the plenums were a little different between the MAF systems and the Speed Density systems. The SD ones have a place to mount the MAP sensor right on the plenum. I'm sure that's easily retrofitted, though.

You just remote mount the MAP sensor like on the TBI cars, keep hose to intake as short as possible for best response.
Also if you get a TPI base from a '87+ F-Body the four center intake bolt holes will have to be elongated
to fit the different earlier SBC ( and Vette alum heads ) bolt angle.

If you use the air filter from an 89 firebird, and the intake tubes, you can mount the air filter on the inner fender panel.
Remember, if you use the short filter, you will suck the radiator heat into your engine. These speed density systms are heat sensitive because the fuel schedule and spark tables are preset.
They don't compensate for air volume. Volume is based on pressure and humidity and temperature, that make up the total air content entering your engine.
They are basically look-up tables in the prom.

When you change any of the constants, you have to reprogram the chip.

So, when you take "outside air" from behind the radiator, and you relocate the mat sensor in front of the radiator, the two are not equal. You will probably get excessive pinging.
Also, remember that the knock sensors are not the same between map and mas systems

Your 88 system will need a 90-91 computer, and a 90-91 harness, 90-91 map sensor, and knock sensor.

You can use the earlier throttle body with the earlier cable hookups, which might make the lokar cable a better choice.
You can use a camaro small diameter distributor with a remote mounted coil for firewall clearance. They both have the 4 pin plug, camaro and corvette.

I used to have a 63 nova SS. Wish I'd never sold it.
